So why do contracts exist? Sometimes an agency may not feel inclined to setup a search marketing campaign unless it’s guaranteed a revenue stream over time. It’s a bit like taking out a loan to pay for the setup. This is fine in principle, but search marketing is a dynamic process that has to change constantly to keep effective. If an agency is looking to recoup costs on just setup, chances are they won’t undertake any major work during the course of the contract. That means no evolution, and  the campaign declines in performance over time, as your competition sharpens up and you are left behind.
